PURPOSE:To permit setting of copying areas to any shape and any number of times by forming a frame of a color differing from that of an original surface on a transparent member superposed on the original surface, setting a copying area, and detecting this by scanning the same with a photosensor using plural color sensors. CONSTITUTION:A transparent member 9 is superposed on an original 7 placed on contact glass 2 of an original platen 1, and a frame 10 of a color differing from that of the original surface is formed as a copying area 8 on said member on the part desired to be copied of the original 7. A photosensor 20 for detecting the frame 10 is disposed below the glass 2 in such a way as to sub-scan the original 7 in synchronization with a moving optical system for exposure such as an exposure lamp 11, and the area 8 is detected by this photosensor 20, in accordance with the detection signals whereof the latent images other than those in the part corresponding to the area 8 out of the electrostatic latent images formed on a photoreceptor 18 are erased with an undersired latent image eraser 24, after which developing and transfer are accomplished. |
