PURPOSE:To handle many sybscribers without fixedly assigning the area of specific subscriber information by acquiring or releasing a table in a division and subscriber file areas in subdivisions when a request to register or erase subscriber information is made. CONSTITUTION:Subscriber's telephone numbers of the whole counter in a subscriber information file in a storage device for a subscriber information index table 10 are divided and subdivided, and the table 10 is referred to by the divisions. Addresses 1A-3A of areas referred to by respective telephone office numbers in the table 10 are linked to information files 1A-1D, 2A-2C, and 3A-3C, and addresses of forward and backward links are provided to those areas 1A- 1D, 2A-2C, and 3A-3C. Then, a common blue area 20 is provided, and the areas 1A-1D, 2A-2C, and 3A-3C are linked; and free areas are registered and the registration and release of the areas 1A-1B, 2A-2C, and 3A-3C are performed, thus handling many subscribers. |
