A massaging effect for vitalising live tissues, especially for treating cellulitis, gives much better results when this massage is carried out under reduced pressure as compared to the external pressure. A massage device (1) suitable for this purpose has a massage instrument (17) effectively connected to three cupping glasses (3, 4, 5), and a suction device (11) connected to one (5) of the cupping glasses in order to generate reduced pressure in the cupping glasses. <IMAGE>
