PURPOSE:To obtain a superior image, by developing a photosensitive material having an emulsion layer contg. a photosensitive copper (I) halide alone or further containing silver halide with an aq. alkaline soln. contg. developers, such as metol, and at least one kind of alpha-amino acid or its derivative. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive material having an emulsion layer contg. photosensitive copper (I) halide alone or moreover silver halide is exposed, and developed with an aq. alkaline contg. at least one developer selected from metols and 3-pyrazolidones, and at least one selected from a group of alpha-amino acid, its derivative, aliphatic acid, oxycarboxylic acid, aromatic carboxylic acid, amine, amine derivative, quinoline deriv., aminocarboxylic acid, and pyridine deriv. As a result, in development performance, an ultra additive property occurs, and a superior photographic image high in max. color development density and contrast and low in fog is obtained. |
