PURPOSE:To enable an accurate testing by fastening the upper cell of shear testing cells for granular solid on a fixing support body while the lower tensile cell is carried on a load meter movably in the horizontal way. CONSTITUTION:A shear testing cell consists a upper shear cell 10 and a lower tensile shear cell 11, between which a space is placed so as to allow the movement thereof freely from 0mm.. The upper cell 10 is fastened in place on a frame 12 with a means such as bolt. The lower tensile cell 11 is carried on a load cell 15 as load meter movably in the horizontal way through a base plate 14, for example, retained on a pluality of rollers 13 and the frame 12. In other words, the lower tensile cell 11 is movable horizontally on the base plate 14 being supported with the roller 13. The force of the load 5 applied on the top of a granular solid layer 1 is partly transmitted to the shear surface A-A. And the actual load working on the A-A surface can be measured accurately from measured values with the load cell 15. Thus, a correct compaction pressure on the shear surface A-A can be determined. |
