PURPOSE:To detect the feed of many sheets of paper through the quantity of transmitted light and thereby make what with the trouble of bookbinding in a copying machine omissible and a skip in reading a document in facsimileing preventable, by applying light to a sheet of feeding paper, while measuring the quantity of transmitted light. CONSTITUTION:The topper paper of a bundle of sheets of paper 1 inside a stacker 2 is transferred onto a feeding paper auxiliary plate 4a by a paper feed roller 3a and further passed through spaces between these feeding paper auxiliary plates 4b, 4c and 4d, 4c, by paper feed rollers 3d and 3c, and then transferred to the next process by paper feed rollers 3d and 3e. In this case, the quantity of light transmitting the paper 1 from a luminous diode 5 is received by a phototransistor 6, then the output is taken out of an output line 6a and processed. That is to say, the quantity of transmitted light is measured whereby judges the feed of many sheets of paper from the quantity of light measured and on this basis, various processes are taken up. And, with these processes, what with the trouble of bookbinding in a copying machine is omitted and what with a skip in reading a document in facsimileing is prevented. |
