PURPOSE:To obtain a detector output which is completely proportional to the extent of displacement by sending out a digital value which indicates the position of a light beam reflecting mirror to a light guide bar. CONSTITUTION:The conical reflecting mirror 3 is arranged movably and coaxially with the optical axis of a light beam and the reflecting mirror 3 and a body to be measured are linked together by a connecting rod 4. The light beam 2 is reflected by the reflecting mirror 3 to form an annular belt 11 on the internal surface of a light shielding plate 5. Each annular column of one stage in a light transmission window 6 formed in the light shielding plate corresponds to one digital value and the number of light guide bars 7 corresponds to the number of bits of the digital value. When the body to be measured is displaced and the reflecting mirror 3 moves and stops as shown in the figure together with the connecting rod 4, the light is incident to light guide bars 2 on both sides among the three light guide bars 7 through two light transmission windows 6 and recessed parts 8 and position information in the form of a digital code is sent to a photodetector 10. |
