<p>PURPOSE:To provide the titled rubber compsn. having excellent impact resistance without detriment to initial velocity, feeling on hitting, etc. of a ball at a time of impact, by blending metallic solts of acrylic and methacrylic acids with a base rubber. CONSTITUTION:30-38ptswt. metal acrylate such as zinc acrylate, 1-10pts.wt metal methacylate such as zinc methacrylate and 30-70pts.wt. inert filler such as BaSO4 are blended with 100pts.wt. base rubber composed of 1,4-polybutadiene having a cis-1,4-bond content of 40% or above. The mixture is knaded at 60- 110 deg.C. The temp. of the kneaded material is lowered to the decomposition temp. of a free-radical initiator, and 0.5-20pts.wt. free-radical initiator such as dicumyl peroxide is added thereto. The mixture is kneaded, charged in a standard ball cap mold and thermoformed at 145-160 deg.C under pressure for 20-30min to obtain a solid golf ball.</p> |
