The invention relates to a U-shaped trim which is composed of elastic material and can be placed as an edge protection onto a flange (6) of the vehicle body. The trim is equipped on the inside of at least one of its legs with a holding lip in the form of a head component (10) which can be coupled on pivotably and whose contact face (11) is constructed in a convex and spiral-shaped manner. In order to obtain an improved close fit on the flange (6), it is proposed to divide the head component (10) by means of an incorporated fitting cord (16) into an upper section (13) and lower section (14) which are connected via a predetermined rupture area (15) which, after the trim has been placed onto the flange (6), can be ruptured with the aid of the fitting cord (16). <IMAGE> |
