The application relates to a motor-vehicle door with a lock which interacts with a housing-like holder fixed to the vehicle and fastened to a column or the like, and with a door inner panel. In order, in the event of a backward displacement of the door caused by a head-on collision, to prevent parts of the latter from jamming on the holder, according to the invention the surface of the holder confronting the door extends further into the interior of the vehicle, as seen in a top view, than the door inner panel or a door trim arranged thereon.
