SUPPLY DEVICE FOR MOLTEN METAL FOR TWIN BELT CONTINUOUS CASTING MACHINE

PURPOSE:To cast continuously the molten steel which is carried batchwise without interruption by receiving the molten steel in a ladle in a master tundish and charging the molten steel supplied from the master tundish into a twin belt continuous casting machine from a slave tundish which receives said molten metal. CONSTITUTION:The charging flow of the molten metal from a ladle 1 into a master tundish 20 is sealed 24 to prevent oxidation by the atm. The tundish 20 is carried in a carriage 26 having a lifting mechanism 25 and is made movable between a preheating position and the prescribed position in the stage of casting. The molten steel in the tundish 20 is supplied through a sliding nozzle 21 and an extension tube 27 for preventing oxidation into a slave tundish 22. The tundish 22 is provided with a stopper nozzle 28 for removing the remaining steel and a skimmer 29 and is carried on a carriage 30, so that it is made travelable in the above-described position. The molten steel is charged from the top end of the spout provided to the tundish 22 into a twin belt continuous casting machine 18.
