A motor-driven rotary actuator including: electric drive motor means configured for providing one of a plurality of output torques; power transmission means including a rotatable output shaft, said transmission means being coupled to said drive motor means and including drive elements formed of disparate materials selected for transmitting one of said output torques, said drive elements including at least one element formed of plastic and at least one element formed of powdered metal, and; electric control means coupled to said motor means for providing rotation positioning control of said output shaft in response to a digital command signal, said digital command signal being received from an external signal bus connected to said control means; said control means including a potentiometer for generating a feedback signal representative of the actual rotary position of said shaft. |
