PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material high in rise of color development and low in temperature required for obtaining a developed color density of 1.0, by using 2-anilino-3-methyl-6-dibutylaminofluoran as a dye precursor in a thermal recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A compound obtained by bringing 2-(2-hydroxy-4-dibutylaminobenzoyl)benzoic acid and 2-methyl-4-methoxyphenylamine into reaction in sulfuric acid and refluxing the reaction product in toluene and an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, namely, 2-anilino-3-methyl-6-dibuthylaminofluoran is dispersed in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. Separately, a color developer, e.g., bisphenol A, is dispersed in an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol. The thus obtained two dispersions are mixed with each other, and the resultant mixture is applied to an ordinary paper to produce a thermal recording sheet. |
