PURPOSE:To obtain a wear resistant material having moderate hardness and giving no scratch on other material by adding a specified amount of B to iron. CONSTITUTION:This wear resistant material consists of 2-6% B and the balance Fe with alloying elements. The material is obtd. by mixing ferroboron powder with iron powder so as to prepare a powdered mixture contg. 2-6% B and by compression-molding and sintering the mixture. When the wear resistant material is used as the material of the shoe of a device for supporting a body to be worked in a coreless grinder, the frequency of exchange of the shoe is reduced, and other material is not scratched.
