PURPOSE:To prevent the quality of exterior appearance of a side seal from deteriorating due to coming-off of paint and rusting, by forming the side seal in a double wall structure consisting of a steel retainer and a resin cushioning cover. CONSTITUTION:A side seal 20 is composed of a steel stey 22 which is painted in the same color as that of the vehicle outer plate, and a resin cushioning cover 24. This stey 22 is attached at its base end part 22a to a vehicle body rear end upper penel 2 by fastening bolts 12 and nuts 14 through the intermediary of washers 11, and a shelf section 22b extending from the base end part 22 is extended to the position where it is overlapped with the upper surface end 8a of the rear bumper 8 so that it covers the gap C. Meanwhile a cover 24 is attached to the shelf section 2b of the stey 22 so that it covers the outer surface of the shelf 22b. |
