<p>Cellulose is recovered from vegetable waste by treating the waste with aqs. acetic acid at raised temps. and pressures in a N2 atm. The cellulose is used to prepare paper slurries/sheet or may be converted to proteins. The process takes appreciably shorter times than known ones and does not give rise to pollutants or toxic residues.</p> |
