PURPOSE:To secure sliding reliability of a head for a long period by covering the surface of a disc with a material having a melting point higher than the surface temperature of the disc at the floating of the head and lower than the disc surface temperature at the sliding of the head over the disc. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the continuous magnetic medium type magnetic disc is covered with the solid lubricating material having a melting point higher than the disc surface temperature at the floating of the magnetic head and lower than the disc surface temperature at the sliding of the disc over the head. In saud constitution, the lubricating material is kept at solid state before driving to start the head and the disc smoothly. At the time of sliding, the temperature is raised and the solid lubricating material is liquefied to provided smooth sliding properties. When the head starts to float, the heast generating quantity is reduced and the lubricating material is turned to the solid state, and after floating, completely solidified. Consequently, the sliding reliability of the head can be secured over a long period even in the continuous magnetic medium type disc. |
