Telephone PBX system with at least one subscriber line circuit to connect in each case one terminal device, in particular a telephone set, to means for emitting control signals in the form of dialling signals via the speech wires and with at least one subscriber line circuit to connect a terminal device to means for exchanging control signals with the terminal device via at least one additional signal line, both types of subscriber line circuit being combined in one subscriber line circuit in each case for one connected terminal device, the type of signal transmission between the terminal device and the system being definable for each subscriber line circuit individually by means of an additional switching device either in the form of dialling signals via the speech wires or via the additional signal line.
