PURPOSE:To form a sharp image by a substantial temp. by using the 1st-3rd group toners having respectively specific values of the spectral specific reflectivity with light having any of >=800nm wavelength and forming an image while detecting the light of >=800nm wavelength irradiated onto an image carrying body and reflected therefrom. CONSTITUTION:The latent image formed on the image carrying body is developed by the toner which is either black toner or chromatic toner and is toned so as to belong to any among the 1st group having 70-85% spectral specific reflectivity with the light having any of >=800nm wavelength, the 2nd group having 20-60% and the 3rd group having <=10%. The light of >=800nm wavelength is irradiated on the image carrying body after said body is subjected to such developing process. The light reflected therefrom is detected and the toner is replenished when the quantity of the reflected light is larger than the quantity corresponding to the reference spectral specific reflectivity of said toner. The image density is controlled in such a manner, by which the image having always the adequate density and excellent chromaticity is formed. |
