PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal display unit which has not the variance of contrast and does not generate interference fringes and is easy to assemble and has good workability, by providing steps on a spacer to position a polarizing plate and positioning and fixing the polarizing plate accurately. CONSTITUTION:Steps 4a are provided on a spacer 4, and an upper polarizing plate 5 is fitted to steps to position the polarizing plate 5, and by this constitution, the workability for setting of the upper polarizing plate 5 is improved very much. That is, when the polarizing plate 5 is fitted to parts of steps 4a merely, positioning of the polarizing plate 5 is completed, and the direction of the axis of polarization is settled; and thus, positioning of the polarizing plate is made easy, and the contrast is stabilized, and the generation of interference fringes is prevented. The damage of the polarizing plate is prevented because it is unnecessary to position it over and again. Since the polarizing plate 5 is positioned to the spacer surely, pressing due to a frame 7 is made uniform to resolve the contact defect of a rubber connector 2. |
