<p>Method characterised in that it comprises the following steps: transmitting a message consisting of a frame comprising a start-of- frame DT, an addressee address field DA, an information field INFO, an end-of-frame FT and then an empty field CV, the addressee address field containing a first part N1 consisting of at least one bit indicating, depending on the value of this part, either a logical addressing to be taken into account, or the regarding of the address consisting of a second part N2 as a physical address, the second part N2 consisting of a plurality N2 of bits indicating a logical address or a physical address, and decoding of the first part of the address in order to validate the reading of the second part of the address during the residence time of the message in each station; verifying and detecting an error by searching out from tables T1, T2 contained in storage means inherent to each station, the content ( EXIST , IR, VER) indicated by the address deduced from the second part N2 of the addressee address field.
