The liquid-cooled band brake has a cylindrical drum (1) with a friction surface lining (2) and round which a flexible brake band (3) passes for a set angle. Passages are formed in the band for a coolant. The band is a one-piece metal strip, having transverse passages in the joint on the side towards the drum. The strip is connected to lengthwise coolant passages with transverse walls forming transverse passages. |
