The invention relates to the conversion of a single-glazed wooden window into a genuine insulating-glass window, maintaining the existing glass. The conversion takes place by placing in front a front frame, which receives a second glass pane, consisting of a basic profile and a covering profile. By laying the seal of the glass interspace on the glass surface of the existing pane, it is permanently sealed in an airtight manner. A drying agent filling, which is connected to the glass interspace, in lateral cavities of the basic profile keeps the enclosed air dry. The two-part profile stabilises the old frame and protects its outside against atmospheric influences.
