PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of malfunction in detecting abrasion by installing a sensor opposite to the ball head portion of a ball stud and detecting the relative position of the ball stud and the sensor. CONSTITUTION:When a head portion 4 or bearings 6, 7 are worn away, the head portion 4 is moved in the direction of separating from an eddy current sensor 11. Therefore, the wear amount is regarded as the lift-off amount and the lift-off amount is read by the eddy current sensor 11 to be indicated as a current value. Accordingly, even if the eddy current sensor 11 and the head portion 4 do not contact each other, the wear amount can be detected, so that the condition of wear can be known at any time regardless of intrusion of foreign matter. |
