PURPOSE:To provide the titled novel enzyme produced by a specific microbial strain separated from soil, inert to fructose, having optimum pH at acidic side, increasing the developed color density in the reaction with maltose, glucose, etc., and capable of improving the sensitivity in the detection of the sugars. CONSTITUTION:The objective enzyme is reactive with maltose, D-glucose, D- mannose, D-galactose, D-xylose, maltotriose and maltopentaose in the presence of phenazine methosulfate as an electron acceptor to effect the dehydrogenation reaction of the sugars. If has an optimum pH of about 6.5, stable pH range of 5-8, especially 6-7, isoelectric point of 4.4 and a molecular weight of about 80,000. It has high detection sensitivity of sugar such as maltose, glucose, etc., increases the detection sensitivity of lipase and amylase activity and improves its accuracy. It can be produced from Serratia marcescens No.C886-2 (FERM P-8370) separated from soil. |
