The invention concerns a canned centrifugal pump with a rotor located in the pump casing, that is fixed on an in particular vertical shaft (2), on which the rotor (6) of the driving electric motor is also mounted. The shaft (2) penetrates the hollow partition (10) that is located between the pump chamber (3) and the motor chamber (4). Its inner hollow space (17) connects the motor chamber (4), which is filled with liquid to be pumped, to the pump chamber (3). One or more openings (13) in the partition (10) create a second connection between the motor chamber (4) and the pump chamber (3), in order to establish a circuit of the liquid being pumped between the pump chamber and the motor chamber. Within the motor chamber (4), there exists an internal circuit of the liquid being pumped, passing through the rotor (6). <IMAGE>
