<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula (R is 1-3C alkyl; R<1> is H or OH; R<2> and R<3> are OH or acetoxy; n is 1-3; *C is asymmetric carbon atom), salt or hydrolyzable ester thereof. EXAMPLE:7-[(D)-2-( 4-Ethyl-2,3-dioxo-1-piperazinecarboxamido )-2-phenylacetami do]-3-(5,6-dihydroxy-2-methyl-2-isoindolinium)methyl-3-cephem-4-carbox ylate. USE:An antimicrobial agent. PREPARATION:A compound (salt) expressed by formula II (R<4> is H or OH which may be protected; R<5> is H or COOH-protecting group; X is halogen or eliminative group; Y is S or SO) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula III (R<6> is H or methyl; R<7> and R<8> are OH which may be protected) to give a compound expressed by formula IV (X<-> is anion), which is, as necessary, methylated and/or reduced.</p> |
