PURPOSE:To ensure the roundness of a cross roller bearing and to simplify the manufacturing process, by applying external force to the notch, which is cut in an outer race and which runs in the radial direction, in order to break the outer race and to provide the outer ring with separating surfaces and then expanding or opening the outer ring at these surface so that a roller can be incorporated in the race-groove. CONSTITUTION:An inward V-groove 3 is formed on the inner surface of an outer ring 1 in the circumferential direction, and radial separating surfaces 8a and 8b are formed through breaking at an appropriate position. The outer race 1 is expanded or opened at these broken (separating) surfaces, so that a roller can be incorporated in the V-shaped groove, which is formed on the inner race. With this contrivance, when the bearing is incorporated in machinery, the rolling/running surface for the rollers has no step or discontinuity, thereby ensuring the roundness of the rolling/running surface. In addition, since the outer race can be manufactured without dividing it into two parts, the manufacturing process of the outer race can be simplified.
