PURPOSE:To improve sealing and lubricating performance as well as durability by providing a seal member and a seal ring surrounding intake and exhaust ports on a cylindrical dome type rotary valve which is slidingly in contact with the spherical crown type inner face of a cylinder head and which rotates around its center line. CONSTITUTION:The top end of a cylinder 22 is closed by a cylinder head 20 having a spherical crown type combustion chamber face, and four sector intake ports 3 are opened on the outer periphery side of the combustion chamber face and the equal number of sector exhaust ports 4 are opened on the center side at equal intervals, respectively. The intake ports 3 and exhaust ports 4 are surrounded by seal metals 5, 7 which are inserted in lubricating oil grooves, respectively, while their inner and outer arc-shaped sides are surrounded by seal rings 6 inserted in plural lubricating oil grooves which are coaxially provided on the cylinder head combustion chamber face, respectively. And, a dome type rotary valve 19 having a spherical crown face and four intake ports 11 and four exhaust ports 12 is provided so as to be slidingly in contact with the combustion chamber face of the cylinder head 20. |
