The process comprises dissociation through contact with a silicalite molecular sieve, for withdrawal of the sieve and extn. of the fatty acid by means of a fluid. Pref. the fluid is a diluent soluble in the initial mixt. and with at least 3.5 polarity index. The fluid can also consist of a soln. of organic acid and diluent which the organic acid has a component with 2-5C atoms per molecule. The diluent can be acetone, methyl ethyl ketone, or diethyl ketone.
