<p>A tape cassette suitable for a video tape recorder to which two kinds of tape cassettes having different outer dimensions can be loaded. The tape cassette has a front cover (80) covering a magnetic tape extended on the front surface of a cassette main body and a back cover (8) covering the back of the magnetic tape. An erroneous loading of the cassette can be prevented by forming the front edge of the upper surface of the back cover perpendicularly (81c) to the upper surface of the cassette main body so that the tape cassette can be loaded easily and reliably to the tape recorder. Furthermore, the tape cassette has high air-tightness, which prevents degradation in picture quality resulting from an increase in dropout due to invasion of dust and the like.</p> |
