PURPOSE:To improve runnability, wear resistance and durability by depositing perfluorodicarboxylate as a lubricating agent on a thin ferromagnetic metallic film which is a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The thin ferromagnetic metallic film is formed on a nonmagnetic base and the lubricating agent contg. the perfluorodicarboxylate is deposited on the thin ferromagnetic metallic film. The perfluorodicarboxylate to be used as the lubricating agent includes monoester of perfluorodicarboxylic acid, diester of perfluorodicarboxylic acid and perfluoroalkylester of perfluorodicarboxylic acid which are respectively expressed by the formula I. In the formula I, R denotes a hydrocarbon group of 1-25c, and n>=2. The coefft. of dynamic friction is thereby decreased under any temp. conditions and the magnetic recording medium having excellent running stability and wear resistance is obtd. |
