PURPOSE:To avoid sudden increase in differential limiting torque and stabilize a traveling property by feeding a pressure oil to a hydraulic actuator for bringing friction boards into pressure contact with each other from a hydraulic pump which is driven in accordance with the relative rotating speed between a differential case and a side gear. CONSTITUTION:When difference in rotation occurred between right and left driving wheels due to the turning of a vehicle, differential rotation takes place between side gears 20, 21 while also causing relative rotation between the gears 20, 21 and a differential case 10. Thereby, since the main shaft 32 of a hydraulic pump 31 is driven at a rotating speed proportionate to the differential rotating speed at that time, a pressure oil proportionate to the differential rotating speed at that time is fed from the pump 31 to a hydraulic actuator 26. And, a friction force is generated between friction boards 24, 25 in accordance with the hydraulic pressure fed to the actuator 26, generating a differential limiting torque in between the side gear 21 and the differential case 10. Thus, since the differential limiting torque can be obtained in proportion to a differential rotating speed based on the traveling condition of the vehicle, the optimum differential limiting function for each traveling condition can be obtained.
