PURPOSE:To prevent the slipping of a belt, in a two-position changeover of a forward/backward changeover part, by returning the forward/backward changeover part to the neutral position at the time of engine stop. CONSTITUTION:A forward/backward changeover part 3 is actuated by a changeover part 120 and a hydraulic servo 130 of a hydraulic actuator 116. A returning means 170 by which the forward/backward changeover part 3 is returned to the neutral position is so constructed that the end of a returning lever 171 being rockably supported is lockedly enganged with a sleeve 29, and that springs 172 and 173 are energized. When an engine is stopped and line pressure is caused to disappear, oil in the hydraulic servo 130 is discharged by the springs 172, 173 to return the sleeve 29 from the forward/backward changeover position to the intermediate position. Thus, the slipping of a belt can be prevented.
