A device for practising firing with a hand-held weapon having an automatic gas-pressure loader which comprises (surrounds) a muzzle blocking device, and having a firing simulator which is set up to emit a signal when the hit occurs. In order to prevent the continuing use of the automatic weapon after a hit signal occurs, the muzzle blocking device can be switched from the closed active position into an inactive position in which it is not closed. The changeover can be initiated by the firing simulator.
