<p>In an injection moulding process, after injection of the material into the mould and removal of the injection nozzle, the cavity contents are subjected to a programme of pressure, frequency and temp. variations predetermined to modify the physiochemical characteristics of the injected material, e.g. by dissipating internal stresses through controlling the cooling rate while subjecting the moulding material directly or indirectly (via the mould wall(s)) to impulses from an oscillating probe. Opt. an injection unit serves several moulds on a turntable or other loop conveyor so that various phases of the pressure/temp./vibration treatment can occur on different moulds simultaneously.</p> |
