A further embodiment of the method for processing reaction mixtures which contain cyclohexyl hydrogen peroxide which have been obtained by oxidising cyclohexane using molecular oxygen, or gases containing molecular oxygen, in the liquid phase at a temperature of 130 to 200@C under a pressure of 5 to 125 bar, by reacting cycloolefins at elevated temperature in the presence of catalysts, cyclohexyl hydrogen peroxide being reacted with cyclohexene at elevated temperature in the presence of compounds of transition metals of group 4 to 6 of the Periodic Table which are soluble in cyclohexane, then hydrogenating the cyclohexene oxide formed in a manner known per se in the presence of hydrogenation catalysts at elevated temperature to give cyclohexanol in accordance with Patent ... (Patent Application P 3636056.2), characterised in that the reaction of cyclohexyl hydrogen peroxide with cyclohexene is carried out in the presence of at least one cyclohexane-insoluble compound of a transition metal of group 4 to 6, selenium, tellurium or a boride.
