The tool comprises a head (7) at one end of a rod (1) which has cutters (14). The cutters are fitted on one or more jaws (8,9), and fluid mouthpiece (38) are provided, connected to a tank for poisonous fluid via a valve arrangement. The poisonous fluid in the tank is under excess pressure, or is subjected to high pressure simultaneously with it being sprayed from the mouthpiece. - A driver component (35,37) is fitted on one of the jaws, and extends towards the tree by which it is activated to carry out a feed movement when the tool head is drawn away from contact with the tree. This movement activates in turn the valve arrangement to open, and allow the issue of poisonous fluid under excess pressure to the mouthpiece (38). |
