In a process for the maintenance and care of antenna (aerial) coverings made from surface-coated hard foam and/or glass fibre-reinforced plastic, it is provided according to the invention, in order to prevent capillary damage of the surface and the accumulation of dirt and formation of a water film, that an impregnant matched to the material of the coating is physically introduced into the surface of the covering and a high-gloss surface is subsequently produced by applying a final impregnation.
