Concrete is mfd. from: ground granulated basic blast-furnace slag as hydraulic binder; sand and ballast; acidic cpds. comprising phosphates and opt. sulphates; basic cpds. comprising oxides or other cpds. of earth metal and opt. Zn, Compsn. pref. includes any of surfactant, setting controller such as plaster of Paris and/or anhydrite, plasticiser and amorphous silicic acid e.g. residue from mfr. of ferrosilicon or Cr silicide, wherein SiO2 content is over 75% and area is over 20 m2/g - SiO2 addn. is (wt.%) 0.6-2 on dry concrete or 4-15 on slag. Further included is pref. concrete ballast, steel, glass or mineral fibre reinforcement, pore-forming agent or light-wt. ballast.
