The invention relates to a working method and a device for loading and unloading loads at fixed or mobile loading stations, in particular at a tailgate of a lorry, consisting essentially of a loading platform which is constructed so as to be capable of being raised, lowered and inclined hydraulically. The platform which is lowered under load is moved upwards again, utilising the energy which is stored during the lowering, after removal of the load. In this way, the emission of noise is greatly reduced with a simultaneous saving in energy. Essentially, a pressure accumulator (52) is provided for this in the hydraulic circuit, the first chamber (54) of the pressure accumulator (52) being filled with gas and the second chamber (55) being filled with hydraulic oil. <IMAGE>
