In a known drawing compass, the writing template is held on a carriage which is displaceably guided on the arm of the drawing compass, it being possible for the arm to be pivoted about a compass point. The new apparatus is intended to make it possible to produce, in a simple manner, a device for drawing arcs of different radii, which apparatus is reliable to handle and capable of versatile use. In the apparatus for drawing arcs of different radii, two bar-shaped arms (1, 2) are connected to each other in a pivotable manner at one of their ends in each case, a compass point (3) being arranged in the extension of the pivot axis, a further compass point (8) being mounted on a carriage capable of lengthwise displacement on one arm (1), and a writing template (12) being mounted on a carriage which is displaceable on the other arm (2).
