A device for automatically bundling coils with continuously fed binding wire (9) comprises essentially a feed device (21) for the binding wire; a cutting device (26) for cutting the binding wire; a deflection device (53) which moves relatively to the fixed coil for winding the binding wire around the coil and is provided with mutually movable guide jaws for selectively surrounding or releasing the binding wire; and a twisting head (27) which rotates about an axis along which it moves to and fro and is provided with a first channel for passage of the binding wire fed by the feed device, a second channel for receiving the binding wire after the latter is wound around the coil, and first and second clamping mechanisms for the binding wire associated with the first and second channel, respectively.
