摘要 The invention relates to a method for hermetically trapping a gas inside a hydraulic shock absorber. In this absorber the internal cylinder member of a double cylinder formed by an internal cylinder member and an external cylinder member is divided into an upper chamber 26 and a lower chamber 27 by a piston 25 which is fixed to one end of a piston rod 24 and is received in a sliding fashion in the said internal cylinder member 13, the said lower chamber 27 communicating with a reservoir 16 defined between the internal and external cylinder members through a communication bore 17 at a location below the said piston, an oil being trapped in a leaktight fashion in the said upper and lower chambers and in the said reservoir, and a gas being trapped in a leaktight fashion in the said reservoir 16, above the oil which is trapped therein. The method comprises the operations of forming a bore for trapping gas 35 in the said external cylinder member 12 at a location above the level of the oil trapped in the said reservoir 16, of introducing a gas through the said gas-trapping bore 35 and of closing the said gas-trapping bore in a leaktight fashion. The invention can be used in the field of hydraulic shock absorbers. <IMAGE>
