The system carries out a comparison calculation between the characteristics of two sets of data to generate shifting control data for achieving digit position alignment between the fractions of the two sets. The system includes the first and the second units (11,12) for respectively generating shifting control data. The first and the second shifting units (21,22;31,32) are provided for respectively realising digit position alignment between the fractions of the two sets. The digit position alignment is achieved by carrying out shifting control data generation in parallel with the shifting operation.
