Composite article comprises a sheet of polymeric material in contact with a body of semi-rigid polyurethane from which is prepd. by reacting (A) an organic polyisocyanate; with (B) a polyol component comprising (i) a polymeric polyol having OH no. 20-80; (ii) a crosslinking or chain extending agent having OH no at least 250 (at least 300); (iii) water; and the novelty (iv) a catalytically effective amt. of an alkali(ne earth) metal salt of an acid of formula R-A-COOH (where R = R'OCO-, R'COO- or R'O-; R' 0 (substd.) hydrocarbon or hetrocyclic radical, pref. OH terminated polyoxyethylene radical; and A = substd. 1-3(1-2)C chain esp. -C=C-). Also claimed are the reaction system (A)+(B). The polyol component (B) and prepn. of the composite article.
