The reflector of the headlamp is inserted into a plastic housing onto which a glass has been placed from the front. Between the fastening points of the reflector on the housing and the fastening points of the housing on the car body there extends a section of the housing which is not shielded with respect to the light source. Between the housing section and the light source a partition is arranged which is made from a material of poor thermal conduction and which is connected to the housing in such a manner that, when the partition expands due to heat, no noticeable distorting forces are transferred to the housing section carrying the reflector.
