Method of firing pyrotechnic rockets, for example for producing firework displays, characterised in that the pyrotechnic objects are placed on satellites equipped with igniters supplied by an electronic circuit, and in that the ignition sequences are communicated to the said electronic circuit of the satellites in the form of radio signals transmitted from a central control station or firing unit. The invention also relates to the installation allowing implementation of this method, which comprises a central control station or firing unit comprising a radiowave transmitter, capable of bidirectional radio communication with a set of satellites, each of which is equipped with a radio signal receiver, a plurality of igniters and an electronic circuit for supplying the latter, so as to be able to ignite a plurality of bombs or other pyrotechnic objects installed on the said satellites and/or directly acting on a plurality of conventional ignition lines. <IMAGE>
