PURPOSE:To efficiently use register files by changing the number of general purpose registers constituting each register file in a microprocessor to constitute an asymmetrical register file group. CONSTITUTION:The register files A to C are constituted of general purpose registers 1, the number of registers 1 constituting each register file is different and the system is constituted of asymmetrical register files. In a supervisor program or a user program, the number of general purpose registers to be used is different in accordance with the contents of the program and the registers of a proper number are chained in accordance with a field using the system to constitute the system, so that the number of unused RAM areas can be reduced as less as possible. Thus, the register files can be efficiently used. |
