Flexible manufacturing system.

A flexible manufacturing system (1) has a stack yard (30), machine tool (10) and a stacker crane (40). In the stack yard, a pallet group (80) formed by stacking a number of pallets is stored. The pallet group (80) is transferred to a machine tool cell (10) by the stacker crane (40). Each pallet has a memory, and data of the pallet itself and the member loaded on the pallet are memorized to it. There are various kinds of members such as work-piece, tool and chuck jaw. These members are stored to the exclusive pallets made for each kind of the member. Of the members, tool and chuck jaw has its own memory and memorizes its own data. The data of all the memory could be read and written, therefore the position of the pallet, tool and chuck jaw could be controlled all the time.
